In the year of 1848 on the 18th of May at 9 o'clock in the morning appeared before me, August Perger, Mayor of Zell and Registrar. - Johann Lummerding, aged 27, born at Neef, District of Coblenz, occupation winegrower. residence Neef, District Coblenz, adult son of Philipp Lummerding, residence Neef, District Coblenz and Maria Gertruda Rinzel, deceased, occupation none in her lifetime, residence of Neef, District Coblenz;

And Maria Elizabetha Kroeten, aged 21, born at Neef District Coblenz, occupation none, residence Neef, District Coblenz, adult daughter of Nicolaus Kroeten, occupation tailor, residence Neef District Coblenz and Maria Josepha Henrichs, deceased, occupation none in her lifetime, residence Neef, District Coblenz:

The fathers of bride and groom present and agreeing to this marriage. Same requested of me to legally perform this marriage as agreed upon between them.

Since the necessary public notices of this Marriage really took place in front of the main door of the community hall, the first on the 7th and the second on the 14th of this month and every time on Sunday at noon.

Since the document of this notice were duly and publicly displayed and no protest against this marriage was made I have read the following documents to grant said request.

1) the Birth Certificate of the groom in the year 1821, Reg. No. 90

2) the Death Certificate of his mother in the year 1834. Reg. No. 147

3) the Birth Certificate of the bride in the year 1827, Reg. No. 82

4) the Death Certificate of her mother in the year 1830, Reg. No. 82
 

The way all this has been noted in the records of said years at this mayor's office and read aloud the 6th chapter of the title pertaining to the status of marriage of the Civil Law Book, then asked the before named groom and bride:

Do you want to wed each other?

Since each one of the two specifically answered this question in the affirmative I then declared. by the authored invested in me. that Johann Lummerding and Mana Elisabetha Kroeten are legally married to each other.

In view of all this I prepared this document in the presence of:

1)Friedrich Joseph Bremm, aged 31, who claims to be a brother-in-law to the groom. occupation wine grower, residence Neef.

2)Mathias Joseph Weber, aged 44, occupation tax collector, residence Zell who claims to be an acquaintance of the newlyweds.

3)Ernst Ludwig Simon, aged 31, occupation book binder, residence Zell who claims to be an acquaintance of the newlyweds and,

4)Johann Adam Eisenkraemer, aged 51, occupation unskilled laborer, residence Zell who claims to be an acquaintance of the newlyweds.
